A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words: Stacey Birkby and Connor Mosley
Connor Mosley, Senior Software/Firmware Engineer based in Valencia, spent some time volunteering at the Angel City Games, an adaptive sports festival. The games took place at Los Angeles High School where Connor assisted with setting up and running the event. Angel City Games is the premier adaptive sports festival for people of all ages and skill levels who have physical disabilities or mobility impairment.
Stacey Birkby, Regional Director, West – Surgical Solutions, spends some of her free time advocating for animals as a volunteer for the Humane Society of the US (HSUS) and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Among her volunteer work, Stacey has:
- I have been deployed (with my husband) to a temporary shelter outside of DC when 171 dogs came over from a closed South Korea dog meat farm.

- Other deployments involve dismantling puppy mills and natural disasters (rescue and reuniting lost pets with their families).
- We use PTO to spend a week of daily care and acclimating them in preparation for their new life.
- I also work on legislative issues for animal advocacy with both organizations (some examples attached).
- I helped Nevada be the first state to pass a Breed Insurance Discrimination Bill (SB103) which prevents insurance companies from charging more or denying coverage simply because a family has a certain breed of dog.
- Writing Letters to The Editor (LTE) and politicians.
- Signing, posting and sharing animal rights/cruelty cases, petitions, etc.
