Katrina Church, New Chief Compliance Officer at Bioventus

It is with great excitement I announce the appointment of Katrina Church as Chief Compliance Officer!  Katrina will sit on the executive team and report directly to me in this critical leadership role.  After interviewing many qualified candidates over the past few months Katrina stood out for her experience in both legal and compliance matters, consistent ability to perform in her position in high growth companies, her experience working on cohesive executive teams and most importantly her ability to communicate and educate on important topics such as compliance.  Katrina is also an excellent fit with our positive culture and growth mindset.

Special thank you to Tony D’Adamio for more than ably “sitting in” as the Chief Compliance Officer in addition to his duties as Chief Legal Officer.  Tony has worked incredibly hard and has done an amazing job upholding both our legal and compliance functions for many months.  Tony can focus on his day job going forward as our Chief Legal Officer.

Reporting to Katrina will be Jay Ward, Senior Manager of Compliance.  Jay has done terrific work supporting our compliance program.  Thank you Jay for all you do.  Gwen Taylor will support Katrina administratively.

Compliance is a function that often gets misunderstood and is critical to our culture and in many ways defines who we are as a company.  We have a unique opportunity in our work lives at Bioventus to see the impact our work and ultimately our medical devices have in supporting patients returning to good health.  The responsibility factor is we must do it above reproach and uphold the credo that patients must ultimately come first in what we do.  Our actions and interactions with our customers must be held to a standard where there is no bias or unethical behavior that endangers our approach to our business and our mission to help patients return to active lives.

From a business perspective, compliance and ethics do level the playing field for all companies no matter their size.  The best products and best devices win in the market as long as compliance and ethics are at the forefront across the industry and respected by the physicians we work with.

Bioventus has benefited from a compliance culture within our industry for many years as we have achieved significant market share often against larger competitors with bigger budgets and more resources ultimately because our products are better and the first choice of our customers!

Under Katrina’s leadership our compliance department will be one dedicated to education, communication and explaining how we ultimately win through a culture of ethics and compliance.  Doing this well will bring great value to our company and to the patients we serve each day.

Have a great week and please join me in welcoming Katrina to Bioventus!

Best Regards,

Ken Reali
