Getting Back to the New Normal at Bioventus
“The Surgical Team and the AHT Sales Team in Germany are doing phenomenal, already delivering year-over-year growth in the month of May and AHT in the US is ramping up with more practices opening and patients returning every week,” said John Nosenzo. “Our sales representatives in Poland and the Netherlands are all back in the field. While things in Canada, UK and Ireland are recovering slower than we would like, given the local restrictions still in place, we do see access expanding and all signs point to Bioventus beginning to recover and get back to stable and more normal sales expectations for 2020.”
That is a good sign, and the commercial teams were the tip of the spear in getting back to the new normal at Bioventus. In May, the US teams in AHT and Surgical began face-to-face visits with our customers as clinics and hospitals granted them access and more surgeries were scheduled.
Offices in Canada remain closed through June 30, but our Sales Specialists in British Columbia, Manitoba with EXOGEN and DUROLANE and in Ontario and Quebec with OSTEOAMP, have been more active to meet needs of patients and physicians.

The week of June 8, our office in Hoofddorp will reopen with five to six employees expected to begin working there. Most importantly, as we come back to the offices you will see ample PPE including masks and even gloves if you want them. In addition, hand sanitizer and signage that allows for social distancing is ubiquitous throughout our shared spaces.
This week our office in Durham began to see more activity with 38 colleagues doing some work there. Of that total, 26 of these were new from the original group working there in mid/late May. Although not everyone is working each weekday from the office, more will come in next week bringing us to roughly 58 employees working at least part of their schedule in our headquarters.

The maximum planned number of employees scheduled to be back in the Durham office at the end of June is about 70 working on the fourth floor and approximately 35 on the first floor.
In Memphis, including the EXOGEN manufacturing team, we have about 30 currently in the office and another 14 will start next week.
“It is ramping up over the next few weeks,” said Michael Kiser. “I estimate we will be about 70-80% returned by end of June.”

There is more to come on all fronts as we get back to what the new normal is shaping up to be in 2020. If you have questions about returning to work, take time to review the Return to Work Guide and speak with your manager.
