For those in the US, March Madness is back! It is a wonderful time if you are a college basketball fan. Filled with heroes, great stories of passion and triumph and last second shots!
We have our own March Madness going on at Bioventus as we look to close Q1 and put ourselves in good position to begin the year with a strong foundation on all of our critical corporate and personal objectives! I hope, for each of you personally, you are making good progress and are off to a good start in meeting your full year goals!
As we close March we expect to be in the growth category…..to stay. March single digit growth will bring April and May double digit growth as we execute on our strategy.
Keep in mind the key elements are the following;
- Exogen growth – relaunch in Q3 with new metatarsal indication – as a sales team we need you to also embrace the new order management process and structure – this is critical
- HA non-contracted growth – while we were able to get the increased United rebates removed from our bonus calculation for 2020 that will not be the case going forward. Growth of our HA business with patients that are not United or some other highly rebated contract is critical to our success in growth and margins – we will be watching this very closely
- Continued double digit Bone Graft Substitutes Growth – the team believes this business will be $100M+ in the next few years and I believe them! Keep up the great work!
- International comeback – slowly but surely we are seeing an emergence with some nice sequential numbers in the quarter so far – this needs to continue
- Pipeline execution – OsteoAmp Flowable, Exogen, Motys, CartiHeal, ProCuff – these all matter and will make a difference for us in the medium term
- M&A execution – this will drive the short and medium and long term as we add products that drive accretive growth beyond our high single digits today
Lastly, as I stated to the extended leadership team this past week, I urge all of you to get vaccinated as soon as you are able! This will help you, your family, our company and our society at large. As we gain a critical mass of vaccinated employees we will be providing further direction on the full return to all our offices for those that have not made it back yet. Of course we will continue to follow CDC and local guidance and appreciate the amazing safety profile we have developed in our offices over the past nine months. Stay tuned for further information and get vaccinated when you can!
Enjoy your week, appreciate all you do and for those basketball fans do enjoy March Madness and go Tar Heels!
Best Regards,
Ken
