PNS Team Sponsors CME Event with Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons

The Peripheral Nerve Stimulation Marketing Team recently conducted some continuing medical education (CME) activities with the Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons (AENS) in Texas.

“This was our first sponsored course through AENS with the objective of converting warm, enthusiastic leads into regular StimRouter implanters in the podiatry ‘open placement’ application,” said Mark Geiger, Senior Director of Marketing, PNS.

The strategy is just one of the ways the PNS Team is looking for ways to increase penetration in podiatry and model the return on investment and payback period to evaluate future opportunities that meet implanter training needs.

Attendees watch a surgeon implant the StimRouter in a cadaver to understand placement and technique.

This CME course included lectures from Faculty / Implanters Stephen Barrett (Georgia), Andrew Rader (Illinois) and Clark Larsen (Utah). Other notable elements included:

  • Live scan with ultrasound.
  • Nerve location using ultrasound for trial stimulation and surgical plan using ultrasound.
  • Nerve decompression on Common Peroneal, Sural, and Tibial Nerves.
  • StimRouter implant technique.
  • Implant plan taking patch placement into consideration.

“Our target for number of attendees was 12 and we had 11 from Texas, Oklahoma and Florida and these leads will be followed up by the relevant Territory Managers,” added Mark.
