Pushing 60!!!
With 60 days to go in 2020 I hope you are ready to hit the final stretch with gusto, drive and hope! At Bioventus anything is possible and achievable and we will look to achieve some BIG PLAYS to close the year!
Here are some highlights from in and around the business.
- We successfully completed our first OsteoAmp Flow case this past week at Ohio State. This was done under a limited market release as we work toward a full release next year. Congratulations to the entire team involved with this project. OsteoAmp Flow represents a significant opportunity in minimally invasive and interbody spine fusions and upon launch next year it will be a momentum driver in our pursuit of the $100M revenue goal for our Bone Graft Substitutes business!
- We went through a quality hold on the Exogen gel in the past week and the Operations and Quality teams worked quickly to establish a new vender, obtain the gel and package with our Exogen units in time to be shipped for month end except in Europe where shipping delays pushed the arrival of the Gel until early this week. Terrific teamwork and problem solving under a difficult situation!
- Sticking with quality, the team completed all outstanding BSI (our notified body in Europe) corrective actions that stemmed from last year’s audit. This was a large important project this year. Congratulations to the team for this significant achievement!
- This past week I was able to spend time in the Northeast with our sales team of Holly Biro, Tim Kane and Greg Cottone. This area has been exceptionally challenging due to the pandemic restrictions and illustrated the challenges our sales team has had getting in front of our key customers at times. It is not always easy but our sales team continues to make a resilient effort and have amazing success. John Nosenzo estimates that our sales team has access to about 70% of our customers. Use of customer lunches, dinners and virtual selling continue to be excellent avenues for our team to engage and sell the amazing benefits of our products. Attached is a picture with the Northeast team celebrating a successful day in the field!
Lastly, the National Italian American Foundation honored Dr. Andrew Fauci last night. This was an excellent virtual gala event honoring a physician leader that has truly stood out during this pandemic. Bioventus was recognized as a supporter of this event.
