We are in the final push for Q3 this week and we are focused on closing the quarter strong! More details on that to come after our earnings call in November.
With Q4 right around the corner as an Executive Team we are united around the following priorities to close the year;
- Hitting our Revenue and EBITDA targets for the year – this comes down to an individual, regional, area, group and country level depending on where you are in the organization;). Let’s keep driving revenue and make fiscally responsible expense spending decisions.
- Completing our Company Scorecard objectives and individual 2021 objectives
- Focusing on largely completing the Bioness integration by year end – great work overall by many and this needs to be a strong focus through the end of this year
- Developing the integration plan for the Misonix acquisition which will get kicked off in 2022 – please note we are on schedule to complete the closing of Misonix in the late October/early November timeframe but integration will not commence until early next year
If you are working on something other than the above and it is impacting your ability to focus on any of the above please reconsider with your manager where you are spending your time.
End of the year “To Do’s” can be stressful and have found with focus on the key priorities stress can be reduced and success can also be achieved;)!
Lastly, I want to announce two new positions to the Executive Team that will take place in the coming months. These changes are meant to adjust to the increased complexity of our business and to provide greater executive oversight in key areas.
Chief Medical Officer – Effective October 1st Dr. Peter Shaw will join the Executive Team reporting to me as Chief Medical Officer for Bioventus. Reporting to Peter will be Medical Affairs, Professional Affairs as well as our Medical Liaisons. Peter will serve a key role as we look to provide greater medical oversight in some of our critical areas across the company including the Exogen claims process, patient and product complaints, quality oversight as it applies to the medical impact of our products such as Health Hazard Evaluations, oversight on our product training for physicians and sales reps, support of our clinical strategies and studies as well as publication strategy, support of our Key Opinion Leader and specialty society engagement, due diligence with key acquisitions and support of our compliance function as it relates to HCP engagement and oversight. Please join me in congratulating Peter on this larger profile role with Bioventus and fulfilling a critical need for us!
SVP of Regulatory and Quality – Upon the close of the Misonix acquisition a new role will be created on the Executive Team reporting to me as Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Quality. This position will be responsible for all regulatory and quality functions in the US and Internationally putting one leader in charge of a critical aspect of our company coming at a time of organizational expansion and as regulations in medical devices also continue to be elevated. The current Regulatory and Quality management and organizations will report into this role. This new leader will facilitate strong alignment across Commercial, Operations and R&D to ensure Bioventus is best in class relative to our Regulatory and Quality functions and can also support our growing International presence. The new leader will be announced once we complete an external search for the role and in the meantime the current Regulatory and Quality structure will remain as it is today.
A special thank you to Alessandra Pavesio and Miguel Beltran-Delgado who will continue in their leadership roles as Chief Science Officer and SVP of Operations respectively. The new roles on the Executive Team will allow greater focus in R&D, Product Development and Clinical Affairs for Alessandra and all of our Operations for Miguel – areas which have also seen significant expansion this year.
