The Shot That Keeps You Coming Back!
If you are a golfer you know the saying in the subject line above. It is something golfers commonly say that after a round of golf you have at least one terrific shot that will stick in your mind and keep you coming back to play again!
For those in the US as you head into a long Thanksgiving holiday weekend (and all others around the globe) consider the same thing as it applies to your work at Bioventus. What is something you are most proud of this year that you accomplished that brought you great joy and satisfaction? Or your team accomplished? Or something you just overcame against all odds? Maybe it is something you are in the middle of and you have a strong vision the goal will be reached by year end?
Whatever your situation focusing on what you have gotten done and accomplished this year and how you can build off that is what I wish for you this holiday weekend! This is called positive energy and the world needs this from all of us and more intimately the patients we serve at Bioventus ultimately expect this from us so they can go back to living their Active Lives!
Today I am going to highlight a group that had a major accomplishment this past week and for many was not noticed as it went on in the background of our business. Over last weekend a focused team, coupled with some consultants, completed an upgrade to our SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. One way to think about the ERP system is that it is the essential automation of the IT systems that control our inventory, planning, sales, revenue, accounting, cash and many other essential areas of our business. It is essentially the Brains of our Rocket Ship we call Bioventus. Any time this is changed it is a business risk and approached with much trepidation as the downside is significant if the system does not function after an upgrade.
Our team completed this latest SAP software upgrade called an S4 upgrade without a hitch this past weekend! The focused group completed this in 10 months, regarded as lightning fast by many experts and during this crazy time of the pandemic. The recognition of this accomplishment starts with Brian Poole our VP of IT! With Brian’s leadership the team safely got Bioventus to the other side of this important upgrade and it paves the way for our continued business expansion as our business gains speed! Here are the other key members of the “Upgrade” team.
- Sara Compton – AHT IT – Sara was the heart and soul of the project and her strong project management skills led this project from beginning to end
- Brett Sprehe – Corporate Finance – coordinated the S4 testing while working on his “day” job which was in transition
- Cheryl Collins – Corporate Accounting – in charge of online ordering and payment solutions for our customers and ensured stability during the transition
- Amber Griffin – Quality Assurance – ensured we met the FDA requirements for our software validation which is very meticulous
- Amanda Lawson – Exogen Quality – was instrumental in making sure we met all FDA requirement associated with the upgrade
- Ram Nishad – AHT IT – a key cog in the wheel of the upgrade leveraging his knowledge of SAP to help Bioventus and the team
- Tina Love – AHT IT – ensured all testing was performed correctly across nearly every aspect of our business and the testing was properly documented
Others offering substantial contribution to this project were; Christian Lems, Jamie Brewer, Radha Parthasarathy, Kishore Babu, Raj Goli, Dinesh Dagar, Chad Watson, Radhika Vijayakumar, Sai Vasireddy, Kattiya Formy-Duval, Bob Pacheco, Daniel Lux, Jessica Gidney, Kimberly Miller, Yasir Minhas, Terri Chenault, Natalie Biscarret, David Williams, Stephan Psyk, Corrie Rittenhouse.
Congratulations to all others involved and thank you for your amazing work and positive energy!
Best regards,
Ken
